Our role

To empower women to play a pivotal role in sustainable development by facilitating their access to informative resources and beneficial networks of diverse women; advocating for the implementation of industry best practices that include equitable and gender-balanced resource allocations; and fostering a more inclusive environment for women and girls in STEM fields.

Overview

  • Despite progress made by women in leadership and industry, a notable disparity persists, with only a few women earning access to insider networks for opportunities.

  • The prevailing work conditions often lack empathy and fail to accommodate the dual responsibilities women juggle, including caregiving and homemaking, which perpetuates social inequalities.

  • Women’s vulnerable position in society exposes them to heightened risks of gender-based violence, undermining their safety and well-being.

  • Despite demonstrating equal abilities in math and science, girls are often deterred from pursuing education and careers in STEM fields due to lower confidence levels and insufficient encouragement compared to their male counterparts.

  • Women and girls bring unique perspectives, experiences, and approaches to problem-solving, offering more holistic understanding of complex issues.

Girls in STEM

  • With two components, an innovation prize and a hands-on workshop, the Girls in STEM programme aims to ignite passion and curiosity among young girls, encouraging them to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated fields.

  • Through the workshops, participants are trained and also inspired by women in leadership to explore the exciting realms of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

  • Additionally, participants earn a chance to showcase their innovative ideas and problem-solving skills by participating in an innovation development prize that fosters their creativity, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit.
