Little Black Book

Launched in 2017, this guide features crucial information about health, education and economic empowerment, as well as social and legal know-how. It provides marginalised women, such as women who provide unpaid care, with information to enable them to make informed decisions, seek services, and guide them in emergencies.

Since then it has evolved into an archive of useful and critical information – the Little Black Book is now a powerful resource guide curated by the Foundation for women across South Africa.

In a country where women play a significant role in their communities and are often the decision-makers in their families, information is vital. The Foundation is committed to providing women with reliable, relevant and accessible information so that they can make informed decisions in their everyday lives.

The Foundation has partnered with public and private institutions to ensure that women at all levels of society and in both rural and urban areas, are able to access the book easily. It is available at a cost to corporations who provide sponsorships and donations to women organisations and institutions.

To date, thousands of these books have been donated to public libraries, schools, health centres, media, civil society organisations, Thuthuzela Centres, churches and teachers.

The book has been digitised so that it can reach more women.
